Bctf Collective Agreement

The agreement negotiated with the assistance of a mediator includes that the collective agreement between the British Columbia Teachers` Federation (BCTF), which represents teachers in the province`s public schools, and BCPSEA (BCPSEA), which represents the 60 public educational bodies, expired on June 30, 2019. In a tweet from the B.C. Teachers` Association (BCTF), it is stated that the Board of Directors recommends accepting the agreement. The agreement was voted online over a three-day period, as current events prohibit teachers from meeting in local schools or district offices. The BCTF says it will send details of the agreement thursday night by email to its members. BCPSEA leads the three phases of collective bargaining between the teacher and the public school (school district) – preparation, negotiation and implementation/administration. An interim agreement has been reached with the 45,000 teachers in British Columbia`s public schools. In a press release, the government of the bc stated that members of the BCPSEA (BCPSEA) and the BC Teachers` Federation (BCTF) have ratified an agreement under the government`s negotiating mandate for sustainable services. The agreement affects more than 45,000 teachers, represented by the BCTF, who provide education to students in the province`s 60 school districts.
